The PELICAN slide is a leather-wrapped memory foam molded footbed platform sandal (now that’s a mouthful!). The molded footbed will provide arch and overall foot support and the memory foam will give cushion to the sole. The upper is 100% leather and the outsole is rubber for an easy all-surface grip.

Our commitment to sustainability is evident in our use of vegetable-tanned leathers, recycled and recyclable products, packaging, and leather sourced from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group. "I love the sandals. Customer service is not good. They are not forth right. I ordered another pair along with this one and had to return it to exchange for a larger size. "I have 3 other pairs of beek sandals and have always felt they are comfortable, but not as cushioned as I would like. I waited and waited for the pelicans to go on sale, and they are everything I hoped for. Q&A

HOw does the Pelican differ from the Chick in terms of strap width and platform height?
Hi Pam, the Pelican upper strap provides a little more coverage than the Chick. The Pelican is also slightly taller in height (Front height 1”, back heel height 1 5/8”) compared to the Chick which has the molded footbed nestled into a thicker rubber outsole giving it a total height of 1 1/4". Hope that helps!
The pelican shoes I ordered last year were just a little small in the toe area, is there truly a difference like you say in the Pelicans being made this year?
Hi, yes! Based on customer feedback we changed the toe area to be more rounded (less angled) so the toes could sit more comfortably without rubbing on the rim. Please give them a try and let us know how they fit!
Slides are often not tight enough on my foot. How have people rated it in terms of snugness
