The PELICAN slide is a leather-wrapped memory foam molded footbed platform sandal (now that’s a mouthful!). The molded footbed will provide arch and overall foot support and the memory foam will give cushion to the sole. The upper is 100% leather and the outsole is rubber for an easy all-surface grip.

Our commitment to sustainability is evident in our use of vegetable-tanned leathers, recycled and recyclable products, packaging, and leather sourced from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group. Materials + Construction

  • Soft, supple leather upper and lining.
  • Molded arch for added support!
  • Signature two metal studs at inside of sole - our classic beek branding.
  • Rubber outsole for enhanced grip.
  • Front height 1”, back heel height 1 ⅝” (measured on size 6)
  • Our Pelican leather instep pad can be added for a more snug fit.

Product Care

To keep your beek sandals looking as beautiful as the day you got them, simply wipe clean with a damp cloth and treat them to a conditioning session 2-3 times a year. Psst, we even have the perfect conditioner available on our site – talk about convenience!

Sizing + Fit

Runs true-to-size. For our "half size" pals, we recommend sizing up for the perfect fit. Our Pelican leather instep pad can be added if you need a more snug fit.

Not the same as my first pair

"I ordered the metallic after wearing out my pink pair. This pair gave me horrible blisters. I brought them on vacation after having such good luck with my previous pair of pelicans (as well as my gallitos and slides). This pair wrecked my feet within an hour and stayed in my suitcase the rest of the trip. I’m not sure if its the metallic finish that makes them wear differently or if the strap is wider than the originals but, the skin on the top of both feet was rubbed off and left my feet raw for days afterwards."

worth it!

"This is my third (!) pair of Pelicans and they are absolutely worth it. The footbed is super high quality and has great molded arch support. They stretch a tiny bit so this time I'm going down from the 10 to the 9 to see how it works after stretching. They don't have half sizes but I can see why. The quality on these is super high. My only regret is that when the corner of my sole started wearing down I didn't take them to the shoe repair store to install those little corner wear things to lengthen the life of the shoe - because the top of the shoe is always amazing and it's just the sole that gets the most life worn out of it from constant use. Definitely worth the money when you factor in the cost per wear factor."

My favorite summer shoe!

"I love them. My second pair! I did order a size smaller because of how much they stretch, and I think they will be perfect. They 100% will be the shoe of the summer for me…they really go with everything! The platform gives me a polished feel but also casual enough to “tone down” feeling too dressy. Comfy beyond. Great work shoe! I am in my feet all day as an Hair Stylist:) Also,I love birds and find it funny that my favorite shoe is named Beek! The shoe box was so cute too don’t want to recycle it!"

Weird noise

"Love the comfort. So very comfy and they are cute but the right one makes a funny noise while I’m walking like a squeak or thump . I can’t describe it but it’s a strange noise and for the price and the quality I’m surprised & a bit disappointed. And the noise is a kind of embarrassing. Q&A

What happens if they get wet?
Hi Kellie, leather is not naturally waterproof but more water resistant, so we do not recommend wearing our shoes in wet conditions for extensive periods. If they do get wet they should be wiped and allowed to dry thoroughly. Regular conditioning will also help.
Will the white strap come back?
Hi Nancy, sorry we do not currently have plans for the Pelican in eggplant/beach to come back. It's one of my favs too - hoping we'll see them again in future seasons!
What are the differences between the Pelican and the Chick?
Hi Becca, the Pelican has our popular platform molded footbed. The Chick is a newer construction that has the same memory foam molded footbed nestled into a rubber outsole. Hope that helps!
Contemplating on my purchase only because I'm between a 8.5 and 9 don't really know what size to go with and I'll be leaving for vacation in 17 days. 🤦‍♀️
Hi, we know our sizing can be a little tricky! For the Pelican I would try the size 8 as it is running a little longer length-wise. I see that you were able to get your order in and they are on their way! Hope you love them! But if for any reason you are not happy with the fit, we do offer free and easy returns or exchanges through our website.
